Day ✨ T w e n t y 7

I'm doing DARE! It's always nice to step back from the things that distract you the most Day in and day out. I think it'll do every mom some good to do this. I intend to spend as much time with my babies and make memories happen. No distractions. After these next 24 hours, I can yell out "I'm awesome!" (Day 26 dare)

One more day until my one BIG thing! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

Day ✨ T w e n t y 5 & T w e n t y 6

Day 25: Truth! Another day of keeping it πŸ’―. When I thought of who was the best recipient, I thought of the two little beings that have changed my world around for the best! You guessed it, my babies. The five things I ❤️ about them are 1.) how they make me feel so alive,  2.) how fearless they are, 3.) their innocence, 4.) how fun they are to be around, and  5.) how they love me unconditionally even when I make mistakes. Children are so forgiving and so trusting. It's something I strive to be. So thanks you Juliana and Logan for teaching me life's greatest lessons!

Day ✨ T w e n t y 3 & T w e n t y 4

Day 23 TRUTH: : This was super easy! This past Monday I went to Disney Springs with my family that was in town. They had a DJ spinning some music 🎢 and got every one up and line dancing πŸ’ƒπŸ½  In the middle of the walkways. I am usually shy when it comes to dancing in public, especially when it's free style or something not choreographed. I have always felt like my dance moves weren't good enough and I just felt socially awkward with all the eyes that could be watching me. I'm definitely not one who likes the spot light on me. Which is weird because I use to dance and I loved being on stage.   But it's a big difference dancing to a choreographed song vs your own made up dance moves. πŸ˜‚ But for some reason, on this day, I got out of my comfort zone and danced with my niece in front of tons of people. Grant it, we weren't alone in this and most of it was choreographed by the DJ but half the time he'd make us free style. So I can count this as a win win for the dare! It was actually not that bad and pretty fun. I think I'd do it again.

Day 24; Truth: The internet hands down! I find myself engulfed on my phone or iPad streaming the World Wide Web or watching videos on YouTube or Netflix. It doesn't help that Apple TV makes it that much easier to stream from your phone to the television screen. And with the far advancing technology, we have smart tv's with built in apps for video streaming. My daughter yells at me and says no when she's sees that she's lost my attention with whatever I'm engulfed in. I made a decision last year to be hands free as the book I read talks about. The book teaches to be more present in life and not so in unwed with technology. It's a lot harder than it sounds but I can honestly say that I'm doing much better in that area (not as good as I'd like) but I'm still working on it. Problem is, I see my daughter following in my footsteps and always ask for my iPad or grabs my phone. So I'm definitely not being a good influence. Man, children are such sponges!

Day ✨ T w e n t y 1 & T w e n t y 2

I am on the last and final week of my MOPS 28 day challenge. Hip hip HoorayπŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½. It's almost bittersweet to know that I won't have any more truths or dares to look forward to in the next few days. What they say is true, it takes 21 days to form a habit! Which brings us to Day 21!
I chose DARE:

The topic for the MOPS meeting this week was on anger and dealing with it to become better moms. I never saw myself to have such a problem until coming to the realization that anger is a secondary emotion and that my primary emotional struggle is that my anger comes from hurt and frustration. I admit that I am very sensitive and I get easily offended. It's something I am aware of now and know I have to fix. I'm not a hot headed person but when I get hurt, I do usually grow resentment towards the person who hurt me OR if you're my husband, I tend to argue with him. So for my dare, I asked him to grade me on my anger. He was hesitant at first, (I guess he thought it was a trap and a fight waiting to happen),  but I told him that I would let him off the hook with whatever his answer was. I guess the mistake on his part was answering truthfully on any other given time. πŸ˜‚ His answer wasn't as bad as I'd thought it would be, he gave me a "C." Something that I could work on and get better. So thanks hubs for your honesty. 😘

Day 22; DARE: I chose dare again because I have been feeling so fat lately after having my son and getting dressed in the morning seems to be a drag since none of my pre baby clothes fit besides my yoga pants and leggings. So, I decided to do some early spring cleaning and clean out every outfit in my closet that ever made me feel like a 🐳 or just made me feel crappy. I didn't get to finish because baby duty calls but I will complete it if it's the last thing I do!

Day ✨ E i g h t e e n - T w e n t y

It's unbelievable that we are already on Day 19! It's crazy how fast time flies. For this day I chose DARE. I felt quite strange saying "I enjoy you" because I never once used these exact words to express my love to someone. I also have never heard anyone say these words as well. It was strange. πŸ˜‚  But I did it and spent the day expressing my love to all those around me that I love and appreciate! So to my folks, husband, and siblings, "I enjoy you!"

For day 20, I chose TRUTH! I picked the song "Bye bye" by Mariah Carey. I've thought about a classmate of mine that died the night we graduated. This song played at her memorial and stuck with me all these years. I still can't hear this song without getting choked up.

Lyrics:

This is for my people's who just lost somebody
Your best friend, your baby, your man or your lady
Put you hand way up high
You will never say bye
(No no no)
Momma's, daddy's, sister's, brother's
Friends, and cousins
This is for my people's who lost their grandmothers
Lift your head up to the sky
'Cause we will never say bye
As a child, there were them times
I didn't get it, but you kept me in line
I didn't know why
You didn't show up sometimes
On Sunday mornings
And I missed you, but what we talked through
All them grown folk things, separation brings
You never let me know it, you never let it show
Because you loved me enormously
And so much more then to say
If you were with me today
Face to face
I never knew I can hurt like this
And everyday life goes on like
I wish I can talk to you for a while
Wish you but try not to cry
As time goes bye
And I'm sure you reached a better place
And still I'd give
The world to see your face
Me right here, next to you
But it's like your gone too soon
Now the hardest thing to do is say
Bye, bye
Bye-bye bye-bye bye-bye
Bye-bye bye-bye bye-bye
Bye-bye bye-bye bye-bye, bye-bye

* skipped day 18 purposefully. I did Truth and told my accountability partner. It was very truthful and not something I feel comfortable sharing on my blog. Maybe some other time. πŸ€—

Day ✨ S I X T E E N & S E V E N T E E N

Day 16!!! I'm a sucker for acts of kindness. I think it's why people that come into my life and exhibit kindness, I keep them in my life for the long haul. I just had to do truth again so I can expose one of the many great people in my life! Check out my video below to see who!

Day 17 TRUTH: I find my ideal impression being one who is happy, friendly, hospitable/kind, and attentive. These four words were something I found in my new found friend Shauna. She became my pregnant buddy when I was pregnant this last time and I feel it brought us closer together as friends. So well done Shauna on having such a great personality and making a lasting impression on me. πŸ€—

Day ✨ F i f t e e n

Today I opted to do Truth again, being married, it's hard to convince your husband that you're planning a kid slumber party with other grown married women. I didn't even ask if he'd think that would be kosher because I figured everyone would be choosing truth as well. πŸ˜‚
Watch the video below to see my answer!

When is the last time you did something for the 1st time? Share below to tell me your story. πŸ€—
Or if you did dare, share pictures below!

Day ✨ F o u r t e e n

Loving yourself and being comfortable in your own skin is very important for each and every women out there. It gets tough for us because we are the most judgemental beings on the planet. We love comparing ourselves to other women and tearing each other and our own self down. It is an imperative thing in our society that women need to find a way to love themselves unconditionally so we can show our sensuality to our mate. With that being said, I want to switch out of my comfort some and do the dare. This was a naughty but fun one.

For the sake of privacy, I won't post or share what I texted. πŸ˜‰

What did you choose today? Truth or dare. Share below!

Day ✨ T w e l v e & T h i r t e e n

Day 12 was a day I wanted to definitely do the DARE especially because it is taking me forever to read my book. But because it's tough grabbing a minute to yourself to read with a busy life as a Mom, I decided to just do Truth. And if and when I get the chance, do the dare. See my video below to see what I look forward to in the morning!

Day 13 was an interesting day. I chose truth because I always do dare. Walking barefoot is my mantra! 🀣.

My favorite color is pink. All shades of them! It is such a pleasent and pretty color. It definitely brings the inner girly girl out in you. Now that I researched what the color pink means, I definitely think it matches my personality to a tee. See below what I found on the great World Wide Web!

If Your Favorite Color is Pink

If pink is your favorite color, you are loving, kind, generous and sensitive to the needs of others.
You are friendly and approachable with a warmth and softness others are drawn to.
You are the nurturers of the world - you love to give nurturing and to receive nurturing in return.
With a personality color pink, you have a maternal instinct, with a need to protect and take care of others. You also have a need for this caring to be reciprocated as you do tend to neglect yourself in your determination to take care of the needs of others.
You are very much in touch with your femininity - this includes men who are in touch with their feminine side.
You are romantic and sensual and sensitive.

Day ✨. E L E V E N

Life is full of ups and downs. That can't be any more true for life as a parent. Some days can be smooth sailing and be the best day ever! And other days, you feel like a complete failure. With all the stresses of being a parent, and let's face it, being an adult, can cause a lot of mental and spiritual exhaustion. Finances can seem almost non existent after having a growing family, you sometimes grow weary of what you don't have. That is why today's exercise for the MOPS challenge couldn't be more rewarding and such a great reminder of all that I do have and not dwell on things that I don't have.

Here is my list:

I found some quotes online that were good messages. The first one below hit home because with every thing we are thankful for, we can still find something to complain about but it's all about our perspective πŸ™ŒπŸ½

What are you most grateful for? Share with me in the comments below!

Day ⭐️ N I N E & T E N

It's amazing what words from a complete stranger can do to uplift someone. I have never been lucky enough to stumble upon a letter from a stranger but I have been blessed to have complete strangers pay for my food in a drive thru or pay for my groceries at the check out line. I've always admired these types of people because acts of kindness like this reminds me that there is still love in this evil corrupt world we live in today. I definitely wanted to do Truth today so I can be apart of the kindness movement!

I wrote a letter on some Index cards and came up with some thoughtful things that I'd love to read if it were me on the receiving end. I definitely pray it falls into the right hands and helps brighten their day! After all, God granted us another day of life to enjoy our loved ones.

Day 10: I chose truth. I actually had time to do a video diary today. Check out in the video below to my response! πŸ€—

Day ⭐️ E I G H T

Today was a fun exercise. Truth had you look up attributes of your name vs the dare prove to be a challenge. My accountability partner started out with dare and messed up a few hours in. It shows how much we find ourselves complaining. I'm guilty of it myself and chose the easy way out by choosing truth today.
Here's what I found out about my name:

I also found that my name means servant of God.

And it couldn't be anymore true about my personality. It was a nice pick me up for today. πŸ€—

What does your name mean? Do you think the meaning and attributes fit who you are? Answer below. ⬇️

Day ⭐️ S I X & S E V E N

The last two days I must say were very hard to think of things to do. I feel like this challenge gets tougher everyday! Especially choosing truth! It makes you look into your inner self.

Day 6 was themed, "Creating a legacy". And on this day I chose D ARE just because after having a baby, life with caring for the new addition can cause you to neglect the romance between you and your spouse. The truth was something I wasn't yet ready to share. This challenge causes you to admit truths that completely bring you to a vulnerable state. And at this point, I just wasn't ready to get truly vulnerable in the way that I wanted to. So I thought doing the dare to counteract that would suffice.

For my dare, I chose to text my hubby some words of affirmation after he texted me what a rough day he had. I wanted him to know that I'm here for him and we need a date night so we could get our minds off the stresses of the world and just have fun together like we use to BB (before baby). 🀣
My epic line to him: "when life gives us lemons, we can make lemonade together."

Day 7- Birthing Something New.
Definitely something that was thought provoking. Today I chose Truth. After my MOPS meeting today, I learned something about myself that intrigues me. I am afraid to become vulnerable. And it's something that I'm hoping the connections I made at MOPS will help me to overcome. I'm learning to express myself not just in my writing, but to verbally get it out. That's very hard for me. Sometimes it's hard for me to articulate the words to say. It's so much easier for me to write it out. That's the true writer in me.

What are your truths or dares for day 6 & 7. Share them below πŸ€—

Day ✨ F O U R & F I V E

Things in mommy world became that much more hectic in my household. Everyone became sick in what seems like a blink of an eye. I, thankfully, am the only one in good health and am nursing everyone back to health. With that being said, it got a little hard to set time apart to do my video diary for the last two days in my Mops challenge. So, I decided to bunch up both days 4 and 5 together.

Day 4: I chose TRUTH because it is a nice thing to think about good qualities you find in others and think of ways that you can improve upon yourself. Thinking of good qualities in a friend made me think of the next question, do I hold these qualities? Am I a good friend? Interesting and thought provoking. (Listen to my video below to listen to my answer)

I found this quote online and I agree with this 100%.

Day 5: I chose DARE. After a long weekend of caring for my babies, it was just nice to take a break and relax for 30 minutes. 🀣 Of course, there's no video for that.

Becoming our Mothers: Day ✨ T H R E E

Another day on my 28 day challenge. Unlike the first two days, I thought I'd change it up and do the D A R E! I woke up this morning with some courage after a great night spent with lovely ladies I met at my first MOPS visit 2 weeks ago. We had a Mops moms night out. Being a mom has truly opened up my personality and I'm meeting new people and doing things I never would have the courage to do before! I'm not so outgoing so this challenge is opening me up and teaching me that it is ok to get out of my comfort zone. That's why I chose the dare! What can be more out of the box then dancing around in the grocery store? Especially with no music. πŸ˜‚

Share your truth or dare stories with me below in the comments! And I look forward to what day 4 has to bring!

MOPS- Blessings in the Night: Day✨2

The challenge picks today were a little tricky. I wanted to do truth again but it took me a while to think of something. And when the thought popped into my head, I couldn't believe a moment as special as this didn't come to mind first. This challenge has already made me stop and reflect on things in my life, to remind me that daily task aren't as important as making memories. Especially remembering the past greatest moments.

This night, was the best night and most exciting night of my life. Although it didn't go exactly as my husband planned, he was just ecstatic that my answer was YES! Long story short, On a cold, STARRY winter night, I came home from work and had an unexpected visitor at the door. Me, being the scaredy cat that I am, refused to go to the door. Realizing after a few minutes that my boyfriend at the time was outside in the cold with a guitar in hand ready to sing the song Suffocate by J. Holiday. I ran off to the bathroom to fix myself up leaving my poor husband in the cold. Now presentable, I stepped outside under the stars with my prince. With such patience, my husband smiled at me and knelt down on one knee and said his beloved speech and asked me the biggest question I'd ever have to answer, "Will you marry me?" His original plan was to have the driveway covered in candles and he would stand at the end of it and sing the song, then pop the question. But due to my stubbornness at first and my husband underestimating how cold NJ winters are, the candles were being blown away. It's the thought that counts and it was a very sweet gesture. He still made the most of it and our proposal story is romantic and funny all at the same time. (No video today, my hair is up in rollers. Prepping for tonights Girls night out)

What will you choose today? Truth or dare?

MOPS- Swell Seasons: Day✨ 1

Today is February 1st and marks the start of MOPS international 28 day challenge! Being a mom can cause a lot of forgetfulness due to all the running around you do. Needless to say, I almost forgot about this challenge until I was reminded by my Mops moms. Thanks for the reminder!
"Sometimes being a grown-up is hard, which in turn makes us way too serious. Our hope is that this challenge will leave you inspired to live a happier, less stressed and more wonder-filled life. It’ll help you become the truest version of yourself, all while relearning how to have fun. When you look back on these 28 Starry Eyed practices, you will find that you rediscovered parts of yourself that you had forgotten, and found glimmers of light in the darkness." -MOPS

So I usually love to write and blog it out but for this challenge, I want to switch it up and do a video blog entry to each day. The challenge goes like this, each day we are given a truth or a dare. We have to pick one. And if we choose dare, we must do the dare. We journal our responses and share with our accountability partner. Each day leads up to our BIG thing on day 28! Today, I chose truth! Watch my video diary to hear my answer.

Do this challenge with me and drop a comment below to tell me your truth. Or if you are daring, tell me what you did for your dare!
