Mommy Mondays

As much as any women loves being a mom and being around their kids, it's still so important that we embrace the solo times and do something just for us. Everyday life is revolved around your children that we seem to get lost in the mix of it all. So today I wanted to start Mommy Mondays so it could be a reminder to myself to remember to do something just for me. Being a mom is such a selfless way of life, so pointing to yourself may seem like a guilty pleasure, but I'm learning, it's so important that we as moms have a time out like this. I don't do anything extravagant. Just a five minute time alone in the bathroom would suffice for me. (Because we all know, our kids follow us in there too). Today, I took a long nap alone in bed. A whole queen size bed to myself  and I plan on having my husband take the bedtime shift tonight so I can cuddle up on the couch and have some alone time to read this book I checked out from the library over 3 weeks ago and still haven't had any time to enjoy reading it.
It may not seem like much to most women, but for me, I'll eat up this moment and enjoy every minute of it. I do have plans later this week to spend some time with other moms who need some sane time. We've planned an official Moms night out! It's very much needed from time to time. 😀 So that should be fun. And you know, I think I'll have a drink or two. I am breastfeeding but I plan to just pump the milk after I drink and just dump it. 😱 A waste right, but I don't want to take any chances.

What would you like to do for your Mommy Monday? What have you done in the past just for yourself?

Our Newest Addition

Hello to all my subscribers and all the newcomers to my blog. It has been such a long time since I've last written a post. And I apologize for that. But if you know anything about being a mom, a free moment to yourself doesn't come often. Especially after adding a new baby to the mix. That's right, you read right! My family welcomed our new baby boy two months ago!

It has been an adjustment going from one child to two. My daughter is now 2 1/2 and she is very demanding wants all the attention. So when my son was first born, it was rough. For the first couple of weeks, she wanted nothing to do with him. But now, she's warmed up to him and she does nothing but smother him with her love and kisses. It's quite adorable to watch. She still has her moments when she wants my attention but talking to her and reassuring her seems to help those tough situations.

It's amazing to see the differences between my two babies. My daughter was hard to please as a baby. She refused the pacifier, hated to be in a baby carrier and in her swing. My son, however, loves all of these things so it definitely helps during those moments where he doesn't want to be put down.

My delivery this time around was also VERY different from my daughter. I was in labor over 24 hours! The contractions started on a Sunday morning at 4:30 am and my son was born Tuesday at 1:54 am. For the first day, I had pain but was not dilating at all until 6 am Monday morning. This laboring process was slow and progressive. The complete opposite of my daughter. Which in a way was good but also bad at the same time. Due to the long, slow and progressive laboring process I was succumbed to, I had opted to get the epidural this time around. I just could not go on anymore. Exhaustion does not even describe how I felt Monday evening when I finally arrived back into the hospital and started in active labor. Needless to say, the epidural was an answered prayer, a breath of fresh air! I was on cloud nine after it was given.

I am so in love with this little guy ❤️
He truly does make our family MORE complete. We are now a family of 4.

Did you have a new baby? How did your older kids react to the new addition?
